Still Here.

RELAX.

It's been a while but I am still here. With the end of my final semester meshed with finals, work, and getting ready for my vacation, I haven’t exactly had all the time in the world to be little miss blogger BUT I am back. I haven’t forgotten about you baby birds with your mouths perched wide open, anxiously awaiting any ounce of my wisdom (uh huh).

Travel.

Go wherever you can go as fast as you can go. Visit countries you could never imagine yourself going to, take a bus to Oklahoma for all I care. Walk up the street to the first park you see, sit down and just watch the children playing (if you are a rugged, slightly creepy dude, I highly advise AGAINST that). There is nothing more beautiful than going to a new place and observing the differences between your daily life and that of others.

Step out of your comfort zone.

I love to people watch. I observe note everyone's quirks and mannerisms and factor in body language so I can better comprehend the beauty of human interaction. There is no way that you can fully understand yourself without taking the time to understand different people.

If I have learned anything over the past three weeks it is this: as amusing as people watching is, don’t ever hesitate to cross the imaginary boundaries we build to protect ourselves. TALK to people. Ask them the questions that you are wondering silently to yourself. Find out the truths about their lives. You will be surprised at how eager people are to tell their stories. For a long time I believed that sole reason that people speak is because silence is utterly unbearable. I have now grown to know that people speak because their is nothing more important to us than being understood. Talk to people that you wouldn’t normally talk to. Talk to people that frustrate you. Talk to people that you have been wired to hate. Talk to people to understand them. See them for who the are. Accept them as individuals. Through all of this, you will eventually bump into knowledge that will help you better understand yourself.

It's all easier so long as you remember to breathe.
